"추억" - Part XIV

NEW STUDENT, THE HEALER?!

Months had passed since Ahreum had left them but the relationship between Yoori and Byunghun didn't make any better. They still didn't talk to each other whenever they gathered together with the rest. They would sit in a distant and always avoided each other's gaze whenever their eyes met. While the others talked non-stop and laughed hard, they would stay still, just gave them a bit of their smirk - pretended that they also listened to their conversation. Both of them didn't know with what they should do to make the awkwardness gone between them as Byunghun brain-stormed his idea to get Yoori back to his side.

"YOO CHANGHYUN!!! MOVE YOUR ASS OUT FROM HERE!!!", Minsoo yelled at Changhyun who sat between him and Yoomi.
"Don't want. I want to sit beside Yoomi noona. You can have her whenever you want, hyung!!", Changhyun poked his tongue out to Minsoo as he clinged into Yoomi's arms, got a kick on his butt by the jealous Minsoo.

It was recess time at school and they were having their break at the rooftop. Yoomi brought a lunch for Minsoo and Changhyun as Changhyun kept begging her to cook for him too while Sina brought a lunch for Niel and Jonghyun. Yoori actually brought a lunch for Byunghun as well but she couldn't give her lunchbox to him, so she asked Chanhee's help to pass over the lunchbox to Byunghun - after gave Chanhee one. Byunghun took it happily as he knew it was from Yoori. He opened the lid just to see his favorite food made by Yoori. He could see the words. "I'm Sorry" in the decorate. He eyed Yoori who was busy talking with Jonghyun and smiled. It was a good start to make things up between them.

The students there could hear their yells, shouts, laughs as they were so noisy in the rooftop. They could hear Changhyun's loud voice as Changhyun used his aegyos to Minsoo for allowing Yoomi to feed him and of course Minsoo never allowed him to.

"YOU'RE SO SELFISH HYUNG!!!! I HATE YOU!!!", Changhyun faked his cry as he hugged Yoomi.
"Just for this time, Minsoo. Let me feed him. Just this once, okay?!", Yoomi got a headache from these childish men besides her.
"Arasseo~ But you have to feed me too!!"
"Bang Minsoo..... Jebal"
"Then NO!!"
"AISH!!!! Okay, I get it!!!", Yoomi got stress out because of her chidish fiancee. Who could believe that scary face would be this childish?! She then fed Changhyun and Minsoo in turns.

"They're so noisy. Urgghhhh~", Jonghyun protested.
"Hahahaha!! Just like a family. Changhyun could be their son. Isn't that cute??", Yoori said as she dug in her food.
"Yeah, Yoomi would be so busy taking care of Minsoo. He's a troublesome", Sina added.
"Well, it means I'm more mature than that stupid hyung there, right jagiya?!", Niel smiled at Sina with his loving gaze.
"Yeah, thanks goodness you are. At least you are not asking me to do such a weird things like he always does", Sina pointed her finger on Minsoo while munching on her food.

Chanhee who heard their conversations felt heavy. It was true that he still loved Yoomi. Everytime he joined the group, he could feel his heart being torn into pieces whenever he saw that couple. But at least he could restrain himself from getting mad.

"Ah~!! I heard we will have a new student here?!", Sina told them. The rest were looking at her even the noisy couple with their 'son' also turned their head to Sina.
"OMO!!! JINJJA???", Changhyun, being the noisest one jumped into Sina's place - got a hit from Niel.
"Ye- yeah. I heard she is from Indonesia. I-"
"SHE???? SHE???? A GIRL????", Changhyun shouted in happiness - earned some hits and kicks by his hyung.
"STOP SHOUTING AND STOP CUTTING SINA!!", Byunghun yelled at him. Yoori smiled, noticing that Byunghun could shout after a long time of stayed silent.
"Arasseo.. So?! Tell us more, about the new student, noona??", Changhyun sat in front of Sina like a kid who want to listen to a story by his mother.
"Well, I only know that she will be in one class with Yoomi, Minsoo and Chanhee"
"A noona again??", scoffed Jonghyun.
"Yeah, well, she will be here tomorrow. That's what I heard when I was in the teachers' room"

Next morning, all of them were happily chatting in the parking lot. As usual, Sina and Niel would be the first one arrived and talked sweet to each other in the car while the next one to arrive was Changhyun, Jonghyun with Yoori and Chanhee. Three of them talked loudly as they hit each other between Niel's and Jonghyun's car. The next to come was Byunghun. He exchanged gaze with Yoori as they smiled to each other but still didn't brave enough to talk. He would watching Yoori while smiling - more to adored her with his loving gaze towards her. The last one to arrive was, of course, Yoomi and Minsoo. As they went out from Minsoo's car, Minsoo hugged Yoomi from behind as fast as he could - catched his love from 'running away' to Changhyun's side. Lately, Changhyun liked to stick to Yoomi whenever wherever they met. And not to mention, since they already engaged, they never felt embarassed to share a kiss in front of their friends or in public. It would make Niel looked at them and then looked at Sina while gulping. Sina would always shake her head.

Jonghyun felt bored suddenly. He always have this swing-mood in him. He might be happy but in a minute, he would be bored and mad. So he silently left the group. He passed the headmaster room as he saw a new girl with a wavy long hair knocked on the headmaster's room. He never saw this girl before. She looks beautiful in his eyes as she locked her dark-brown eyes to Jonghyun's. She bowed to Jonghyun and smiled to him as she went in to the headmaster's room. Jonghyun didn't blink for a second. He freezed there, not able to move even an inch. He then shook his head and walked while feeling his own mess-heartbeat. 

The bell rang and it's time for them to go to their class. As Sina said yesterday, the new girl was finally being introduced in Yoomi's class. She was so cute for the guys there. Well, not for Minsoo who slept already on his desk. She introduced herself in English since she wasn't good enough in Korean.

"Hello, my name is Alifa. I come from Indonesia and currently moved here with my family since my dad will be working here. Nice to know you, all. I'm sorry if I can't speak Korean well. I will improve my skill here", she bowed.

"Well, Alifa. Since you speak English, please sit with Park Yoomi. She is the only one here who fluent in English. Park Yoomi, raised your hand please!", the homeroom teacher demand.

Yoomi raised her hand as she smiled to Alifa. Alifa returned the smile and she walked to the desk beside Yoomi's just to find sleeping Minsoo there.

"BANG MINSOO!!", the teacher yelled at him, made him wake up and saw Alifa stood in front of him. Yoomi told him to move his seat because Alifa would sit in his place. It made Minsoo's mood became worse as he moved beside Chanhee's seat. He took a look at Yoomi who happily chatted with the new girl and drifted back to his dreamland.

Finally, it was recess time and as he heard the bell rang, Minsoo opened his eyes just to catch his fiancee. But then he shocked to see that Yoomi was already gone with the new student. Chanhee told him that the teacher asked Yoomi to give a tour to Alifa in the school. Then Chanhee dragged the pouted Minsoo to their usual place to gather, the rooftop.

The rest were there, busy with their own lunch when suddenly the door in the rooftop widely opened. Yoomi was finally there with the new girl. Changhyun came to hug Yoomi then he looked at the new girl.

"Oh?! She must be the new student here?!"

"Yupz. Ah, Alifa this is Changhyun the 1st year student. Changhyun, this is Alifa"

"A-li-pah?! I have to talk in English, noona?!"

"YES!!! Now introduced yourself!!"

"Hello, I'm Changhyun Yoo. I I'm uhhh..... Ten five?!"

"Fifteen you mean, dongsaeng-ah", Sina cut Changhyun as she and Yoori walked closer to Yoomi and Alifa. "Hello, my name is Sina. Nice to know you. I'm also a senior here", she said in a fluent English.

"Hello, Alifa. My name is Yoori. I'm a senior too here and three of us are friends since we kids"

"Whoaa~ All of you can speak English fluently!!", Alifa smiled.

"Yeah, but not with the boys", they scoffed.

Then they introduced themselves to Alifa one by one except for Jonghyun who wasn't there. He probably was in the school garden, sleeping. Alifa then got shock to know that Yoomi and Minsoo were actually engaged and apologized to Minsoo for separating them in the class. Minsoo just took it all cool as he said that he could be with Yoomi after school. Niel also introduced himself as Sina's boyfriend - made Alifa gasped that they were all in a relationship except Yoori. They became good friends just in an instant.

Most of the time, Alifa talked with Yoori since the other girls were busy with their boyfriend. Alifa could sense the gaze from Byunghun who sat behind Yoori. She knew that Byunghun was looking at Yoori with his deep stare.

"Is he your boyfriend?!", Alifa asked - more specific, whispered.

"Uhh?! Who?!"

"That boy who sits behind you"

"Byunghun?! I don't know. We broke up a months ago. Why?!"

"Well, he always locked his eyes to you. I guess he still loves you?! His stare... towards you..."

"Hahahaha.. Really?! Thank you. Well, I plan to get him back to my side. But I don't know how"

"Owwww~ Both of you still loves each other!! Whoaaaa"

"Sssshhhhh~~!!! Keep your voice down!!"

They giggled together as Byunghun smiled to himself, watched over the happy Yoori. Yeah, Yoori seemed brighter lately. It made Byunghun relieved that his never-replaced-love was back to herself.

It was the time for them to go home at last. Minsoo and Yoomi already went home together with Sina and Niel. Jonghyun, Changhyun, Chanhee, Byunghun, Yoori and Alifa were still there at school for their extra. Even though Alifa just moved to this school, she already chose her extra which was dance club and it made her in one club with Jonghyun and Changhyun.

Once again, she introduced herself in front of the students there. When she introduced herself, Jonghyun stepped in to the class. He was late. Once again, he laid his eyes on this girl's eyes. She smiled once again towards Jonghyun. He saw her like there was some sparkle on her. She was to shiny for him. Alifa didn't remember Jonghyun but Jonghyun remembered her too well in his heart. His heart started to make a crazy beat as he walked to Changhyun.

"She is the new student Sina noona told us yesterday. She was with us on recess. Where were you?!"

"Uhh... I..."

He stared deeply at her back. He felt confuse with his own heartbeat. Changhyun could see Jonghyun's ears became red. He was lost why his friend's ears became sooooooo red like that. As far as he knows, Jonghyun would be like that if he fell in love. Then Changhyun eyes widely opened - more rounded and bigger than usual. HIS FRIEND FELL IN LOVE?! BUT WITH WHO?!
