THE HEARTBREAKING TRUTH
It was the first day of new semester for the boys and girls - of course a new year for Changhyun and Jonghyun at their new school as they were a High-schooler now. Surprisingly, Ahreum also enrolled to TOP High School as the seniors. They got her paper of transferring school from America. With some requests, Ahreum would be in one class with Byunghun - made the awkwardness in the group more noticable since Yoori never joined the group again from the day she broke up with Byunghun.
Jonghyun missed his Yoori noona the most. Secretly, Jonghyun felt comfortable around Yoori and he started to consider Yoori as his sister. He was mad at Byunghun for hurting Yoori like that even though he couldn't hate Ahreum. Everyday, Jonghyun would visit Yoori at her home along with Yoomi and Sina. He just wanted to make sure that Yoori was okay. Indeed, she was okay but she became more pale and thin as she rarely eat. Jonghyun would always brought Yoori's favorite food whenever he visited Yoori and if Yoori refused to eat, Jonghyun would feed her with force.
The class arrangements also didn't make any help with their awkwardness. Byunghun, Ahreum, Yoori and Sina in one class (3-2) while Yoomi, Minsoo and Chanhee in one class (3-5) - made the tense between them more visible, not to mention Chanhee still being awkward between Minsoo and Yoomi. Thankfully Yoori still had Sina in her class. They sat in the second row, near the door while Byunghun and Ahreum sat in the back. Even though the news of Byunghun and Yoori had breakup spreading all over the school, the students there just stay silent, but some of them talked about Ahreum being the evil one, stole Byunghun from Yoori. Byunghun got mad at them and it made Yoori's heart more broke than before. She could only hide her heart being torn apart with studying hard.
But it was different for Byunghun. He always watched Yoori from a far, worrying about her if she had eaten or she got sick or she cried again. His heart also torn apart as he saw how Jonghyun took a good care of Yoori. Somehow he felt grateful towards his dongsaeng for standing there, beside Yoori in her hard times.
It was true that Yoori made a distance from the group except from Jonghyun, Yoomi and Sina. She rarely could be seen in the group and Yoomi or Jonghyun would be with her. Minsoo sometimes felt annoyed by the fact that Yoomi abandoned him just for Yoori but then he thought that maybe Yoori really need times to recover her pain in her fragile heart. Ahreum filled in the emptyness of Yoori in the group but everyone became awkward towards her. She would happily talking but the others would have an awkward laugh or answer. To be honest, all of them didn't like the fact of Ahreum being back to Byunghun's life as they saw Ahreum stole Byunghun from Yoori. They couldn't believe that Ahreum could be so cold-hearted.
"Noona?!", Jonghyun peeked at someone in the library, reading a book silently. "May I join you?!"
"Sure. Why not?!", Yoori smiled at him.
"How do you feel these days?? Better??"
"Well, yeah"
"Of course!! Because I'm always here for you. I'm your healer noona~ Lem'me hug my noona~", Jonghyun said while doing aegyo to Yoori. Even though Jonghyun looked so manly, he has many aegyos and Yoori was the only one who could see his aegyos. Yoori smiled at him - thankful that he was here everytime she needed someone. She hugged Jonghyun while whispering, "Thank you so much, Jonghyunnie"
They talked a lot after going out from the library - Yoori was helping Jonghyun on his tasks. Yoori ruffled Jonghyun's hair and Jonghyun would do aegyo to Yoori, earning some jealousy from the girls there - not to mention, Byunghun who watched them from a far. Ahreum knew that Byunghun couldn't let his eyes off from Yoori. Her heart of course felt hurt. But once again, she only said to herself, "I know I'm selfish but what can I do?!" At least Byunghun was with her even though his heart wasn't.

Each day, Ahreum's condition became worse. She would fainted rapidly at school and Byunghun had to bring her home to see the doctor. Yoori always saw those scene where Byunghun would worrily carried her with a sad expression. Somehow she wanted to know what exactly happened to Ahreum.
Byunghun gave up on kept Ahreum's condition from his friends. He didn't want the boys hated Ahreum in her last days. He called them and made an appointment with them. That time, Ahreum was hospitalized since her condition dropped too much and her parents were already arrived in Korea.
"Hyung", Jonghyun was the first one to come - Byunghun of course told him to come early.
"Sit down. Ah, how's Yoori?!"
"Yoori noona?! She told me that she's fine but seriously, I don't think so. She ..... How should I say this?! She rarely eat now. She doesn't want to eat, always skips her breakfast-lunch-dinner. But yeah, she's okay"
"Oh my goodness", Byunghun facepalmed, couldn't imagine how Yoori suffered from this. He was in a mess.
"I know that you will tell us about why you stay by Ahreum noona's side today", Niel's voice suddenly appeared - revealed the rest too with Yoomi and Sina.
He told them everything. He told them how Ahreum asked him to be on her side in her last days. He told them that he always saw Ahreum suffered from her dangerous disease. It broke his heart to see both Ahreum and Yoori suffered. The boys freezed when Byunghun told them about Ahreum's disease. Yoomi and Sina gasped, couldn't believe that the reason behind Byunghun became Ahreum's boyfriend was so heart-breaking. If only they could tell Yoori about this but Byunghun forced them to not tell her.
By Changhyun's request, they visited Ahreum's ward. There, they saw a lifeless Ahreum lied with some medical equipment in her body. Her parents were there, talking to her. The boys almost bursted into tears when they saw Ahreum's weak smile towards them.
"Byunghun must told you?!"
"Yes!! Noona why you kept this from us?!"
"Changhyun, I don't want to make all of you worry about me. Just being with Byunghun already make me happy. Hehehe. Hey, don't cry"
"But you will leave us!! I CAN'T ACCEPT THAT!!!"
"No. I won't leave you guys. Never. Understand?! I will always be next to you all"
"Ahreum..", Yoomi walked closer to Ahreum.
"Hi, Yoomi. How's everything going with Minsoo??"
"We're going well, thank you", Yoomi cried. "Sorry. I'm so sorry"
"What for, Yoomi?! You didn't make any mistake", Ahreum held Yoomi's tremble hand.
"I... I cursed you... I cursed you because you made my... friend... suffer.... Sorry"
Sina also walked closer to Ahreum and Yoomi. She cried with them while apologizing to Ahreum. She also hated Ahreum for making Yoori's heart broke into pieces. Both of them cried while Ahreum hugged them tight.
"You guys.. Stop crying. I'm okay since I'm the one who stole Byunghun from Yoori"
"But you have your own reason and we...", Sina said still on her tears.
"Ssshh~ At least I know now how to have a girl friends. I never have girl friends and Yoori is so lucky to have you both. Minsoo, Daniel. Treasure them!! Take care of them well!!", Minsoo and Niel nodded while holding back their tears.
The situation there became better as they talked and laughed hard with Ahreum. If only Yoori knew the truth, she might be joined them. From that time, Yoomi and Sina became Ahreum's good friend. They would visit Ahreum after accompanying Yoori at noon. Both of them suffered, it made Yoomi and Sina's heart felt heavy. They would tell Ahreum about Yoori but they couldn't tell Yoori about Ahreum.
Yoori, herself still seemed lost. She cried everynight just by thinking how she missed Byunghun's arms while hugging her, how firm Byunghun's hand holding her hand. She missed everything about Byunghun. Sometimes, when she was out alone, she saw Byunghun's favorite food, she would burst into tears, replaying the moments they had spent together for a year. She kept their pictures in her drawer, and whenever she missed Byunghun, she would cry hugging those pictures. She wanted her Byunghun to be back to her side.

It's been 2 months until the last time Ahreum fainted. Yoori couldn't see Byunghun nor Ahreum. Her heart once again hurt. Sina who noticed that could only sighed. She pat Yoori's shoulder.
"You will know one day", the words which made Yoori hanging. What did Sina mean by saying that?! Did Sina know something she didn't know?!
"Yoori, just a few more days. You will know", Yoomi said that while hugging her devastated friend. She once again confused by her friends' words.
"Noona. I feel you but please wait for a few more days", Changhyun told Yoori with his serious look. What the fuck would be happening in a few more days?!
She grew curious and finally she followed Yoomi and Sina secretly when they were going ahead to a hospital. She furrowed her eyebrows as she looked at how hard Yoomi and Sina cried in front of an ICU room. Sina went in first to visit Ahreum and then Yoomi. Yoori walked closer to them just to get a shock by seeing what she saw. Ahreum sleeping peacefully with those medical machines embedded into her tiny body. Sina's eyes rounded as she saw Yoori kneeled down with tears.
"Wh- What happened with her?!"
"Yoori"
"What happened with her?!"
"Let's talk somewhere else"
Sina told her everything since she already saw Ahreum there. Yoori cried. She felt stupid to hate Ahreum. She didn't know that it was Ahreum's last request to be with Byunghun. At that time, Byunghun just arrived at the hospital after getting a message from Yoomi that Ahreum's condition became worse. He couldn't see Yoori there since he was in panic. Sina ran after him. Yoori just sat still there.
Suddenly, she felt someone hugged her. It was Jonghyun. He pat her shoulder and Yoori once again cried hard.
"Ahreum noona. Maybe it's her time. But, she never wanted to hurt you, noona. Believe me, she didn't want to. She even told us that she really wanted to be friend with you. She said she was sorry"
It made Yoori cried harder in Jonghyun's arms. If only she knew faster, she would change her mind. Now, it's all already late. The doctors who handled Ahreum finally said the "final" words. Little did they know. Ahreum saw Yoori and she smiled a bit before she left. All of them cried. They lost someone who would they never forget.

A week passed. Byunghun and Yoori were still not talking to each other. Both of them still thinking of Ahreum. Until one day, Ahreum's parents invited them plus the rest to their house. They showed them how Ahreum treasured the moments they made for these past months. She wrote a diary in her last weeks and they could see Yoori's name in every page. Ahreum wrote how she felt guilty towards Yoori and wanted to apologize.
Her parents then gave them one by one. a letter Ahreum wrote before she went to ICU's room. Most of the letters just said how she felt grateful to know them in her last days. But the letters for Yoori and Byunghun were different.
Byunghun, thank you so much for granted my selfish wish to be with you. I still want to say sorry for what happened 3 years ago. I feel happy that I can be with you these weeks. But...... Even though you're with me, I still can feel your warm gaze towards Yoori. Your heart was there with Yoori and not me. Well, I don't want to be greedy. I can have you in my side but I can't have your heart again, it's completely okay for me. Take care of Yoori!! She is a nice girl!! I believe she can make you happy, just by hearing those funny stories from Yoomi and Sina. She is the right one for you!! Hehehehe.. I love you, Lee Byunghun. Live well!!
Yoori, I'm so sorry. Do you know how much I wanted to say those words to you in person but I can't?! I'm totally sorry. Sorry for stealing Byunghun from your side. But whenever he was with me, his heart would always think about you. The only thing I know, HE LOVES YOU SO MUCH. Yeah, he loves you. You two are destined to be together I guess since I always spotted you looked at him secretly. Both of you have grow your loves so strong and I envy you to get those strong passion of love from him. Both of them cried after reading the letters. Sina came to Yoori and hugged her.
"Actually, Ahreum wasn't allowed to fly from America. But she insisted us to let her go since she said she wanted to make something up with Byunghun before she left. She begged us when we said no. She also knew that her condition would be worse if she fly here but she sacrificed herself just for you, Byunghun. Thank you. Thank you for granted her last wish. Thank you"
