THE CONFESSIONS (I)
Beautiful
morning to start a day in Seoul and people were busy preparing their daily
activities. The smell of baked bread was spreading in the morning around
Gangnam area as Sina’s family’s business was ready to be opened. Yoomi and
Yoori were inside the bakery, waited for their friend to be ready. Sina’s mom
gave them their favorite bread for breakfast while waiting for Sina. Suddenly,
the door was opened, revealing Chanhee with his not-usual-bright smile. If he always
entered Sina’s bakery with killer-bright smile, today was different. It looked
like he was annoyed by something. Yoomi and Yoori looked each other with
confused face.
Chanhee
greeted Yoomi and Yoori with his so-not-good voice. He seemed not having any energy
to talk like something took his energy out even just for talking. Yoomi just
waved her hand towards Chanhee – still munched on her bread while Yoori bowed
to him, awkwardly.
“Oh, it’s Chanhee!! Come here,
Chanhee. Eommonim will give your favorite bread”
“Gomabseubnida, eommonim”
“What happened with you,
Chanhee??”,Yoomi asked – Yoori eyed them.
“Uhh…”
“I’m here~!! Oh, Chanheehyung!! Are
they your friends, hyung?!”,Sina’s younger brother interrupted.
“OMO!!Your friends, Chanhee?! Why
didn’t you let them in??”,Sina’s mom asked while opening the door. “Come in
young boys!! You’re Chanhee’s friends right?!”
The two
guys entered the bakery with Sina’s mom. Yoori’s eyes almost popped out and
almost choked when she saw Byunghun entered the bakery. Yoomi was busy talking
with Chanhee so she didn’t notice someone who got angry just by looking at how
closed she was with Chanhee that time. Byunghun shyly and awkwardly walked
towards Yoori. Yoori didn’t give any reaction as Byunghun sat beside her while
smiling and bowing to her. Yoori replied his bowthen back to munch on her
bread.Minsoo who sat beside Byunghun pouted seeing his crush was having fun
with other guy and it was his own friend.Minsoo could hear Yoomi’s giggling and
actually he loved it whenever he heard it but this time he didn’t like it since
she giggled with his best friend.
“You like Yoomi, don’t
you?!”,Byunghun suddenly asked.
“Wha—What?? Me?? Like
Yoomi??”,Minsoo stuttered – Yoori looked at him.
“Don’t lie!! I know everything!!
You’ve been following her these days”
“YA!!! Shut up!!”
Yoori who
heard what Byunghun just said made a smirk on her face. At that time, Sina
finished dressing and got shock when she saw her classmates there. Sina knew
that Minsoo and Chanhee wanted to be closer to her friends but she was clueless
about Byunghun.
“Uhng, guys. Let’s go to school
right now. We might be late if we don’t move now”, Sina announced.
“A………..”
“Yes, Minsoo??”
“Uhh…..”
“He wants
Yoomi to ride on his car”, Byunghun said while pointing his finger to Minsoo.
Yoomi turned her head to Minsoo’s direction. It was the first time they had
eye-contact as Minsoo’s heart raced hard just by looking at her eyes.Yoomi eyed
Minsoo with blank expression.
“Okay”,
Yoomi answered. Minsoo smiled but then, “As long as Sina is with me, I’m okay
to ride your car, uhmm… Minsoo-ssi?!”.Minsoo’s smile dropped. He eyed Sina.
Sina just shrugged her shoulder, not knowing what to do with her friend’s
answer.
“Uhhh… guys… Can I come with
you??”,Yoori askedYoomi and Sina.
“Nope!! You
are going with me!!”,Byunghun held Yoori’s hand and dragged her to his car. All
eyes glued on them especially Chanhee. He knew it that his assumptions were
true about Byunghun falling in love with Yoori or Byunghun had a crush on
Yoori. Sina and Yoomi also shocked and looked each other, never expecting this
to happen. They looked at Chanhee with sad eyes, felt sorry for him. Chanhee
scoffed a bit and let out his sigh. Yoomi came closer too Chanhee and in reflex
she patted Chanhee’s shoulder.
Sina made
her step to Minsoo and whispered, “Ya!!! You should learn from Byunghun!!! He
is so straight-minded and brave!! Will Yoomi notice you if you always act like
this?? Being shy and not making any progress?! Don’t forget that many of our
sunbaes in Volleyball club like her!!”
“Oh?! Where is Yoori?? And… Where
is Chanhee’s other friend?? Aigoo! They left already?! What a pity. Here, young
boy. Take this bread for you and your friend. What’s your name by the way?!”
“Ah, I’m BangMinsoo, eommonim.
Thank you so much for the breads. Byunghun and I will surely eat these breads”
Yoomi took
a glance at Minsoo who just talked with Sina’s mother. It was her first time
hearing his voice. So deep and so manly in Yoomi’s opinion and that made
Yoomi’s heart flutter a bit. She smiled without knowing it herself. That time,
Minsoo also made his eyes looked at Yoomi. His stare melted her heart and her
smiled melted his heart. Both of them blushed and felt awkward as they turned
their head the opposite way.
“OK!!! Then let’s the four of us
ride Minsoo’s car together!! We will be late if we just stand here!! C’mon!!
Chop CHOP!!!”,Sina once again announced while dragged Yoomi to the door.
The four of
them rode the car silently since Minsoo was driving, Sina and Yoomi sat in the
back and Chanhee kept looking outside the window with gloomy expression. Meanwhile, in the other car, Byunghun was
trying to be closed with Yoori. He asked many things to Yoori but none of them
succeeded to make her spoke. All the time, she would answer just with simply
yes or no.
“Okay, here. Let me introduce
myself formally first. Hello, Jung Yoori. My name is Lee Byunghun. I am 16
years old and I am Sina’s classmate. I like to play piano and violin. I also
like dance and composing songs. Nice to meet you, Jung Yoori-ssi”
Out of
nowhere, Yoori suddenly laughed after hearing those formal words from
Byunghun’s mouth. She couldn’t control her laugh because she knew that Byunghun
was a player around the school and never used that kind of words but Yoori’s
laugh made Byunghun smiled. As Yoori turned her head to Byunghun, he saw her
laughing face and his heart made a faster beat every second.
“You do
look pretty when you smile and laugh, Yoori”. Those words made Yoori stopped
from laughing and Byunghun could see that she was blushing like mad.Yoori felt
her heart was going crazy. At that time, they had arrived at their school’s
parking lot and as usual, Byunghun’s fans were there, surrounding his car. They
gasped when they saw Yoori inside his car.
“Thank you
for the ride, Byunghun. You can call me just with Yoori. Nice to know you. See
you around the school!”, with that, Yoori stepped out from his car, walked to
her class, waited for her friends.Byunghun smiled like an idiot when he heard
what Yoori just said to him.
10 minutes
after that, Minsoo’s car approached the school. Same with Byunghun, girls
surrounded his car at the parking lot. Once again, they gasped when they saw
Sina and Yoomi inside his car along with Chanhee. Sina and Yoomi stepped out
together with Chanhee and walked to their class.Minsoo walked behind them –
kept his eyes locked onYoomi. As he saw Sina and Chanhee walked in to the
class, he put some courage on himself, grabbed Yoomi’s arm.
“Oh?!Minsoo-ssi??Waeyo?!”
“Uhh… Just call me with Minsoo,
Yoomi. I – uhh… Uhh…”
“Yes?!”
“I… I want to be… clos–“
“Sure!! Why not?! We can be good
friends, right?!”
“REALLY?! YOU WANT TO BE CLOSED TO
ME?!”
“Why not??Hahahaha.. Okay, see you,
Minsoo!!”
Yoomi left
Minsoo who just smiled like an idiot and danced incoherently in front of the
class. Yoomi sat beside Yoori and told her everything – Yoori also told Yoomi
about her and Byunghun.
From that
day, all of them became good friends where Minsoo was not afraid anymore with
talking to Yoomi. Byunghun and Yoori also became closer each day – made
Chanhee’s heart more broken. Sina and Yoomi would always support Chanhee to
move on since Yoori seemed like to fall with Byunghun’s charm slowly. Little
did they know, Chanhee also liked Yoomi since he felt safe and comfortable
around her. But once again, he was lost by his own friend who made his steps to
get closer to Yoomi. *Lo nasibamatsihChanhee… -,-*
On their
recess, they would sit on the same table in the cafeteria, chatting and
laughing together. The other students could never protests against it since the
six of them were the school’s proud. They also would always going home together
– Byunghun and Yoori with Chanhee in one car, Minsoo and Yoomi with Sina in one
car. They also would always spend their time after school together, especially
for Byunghun and Minsoo who wanted to take their girls’ hearts.
Byunghun
would always act sweet to Yoori and he was completely changed after getting
closer to Yoori – from a player to a true gentleman. He sometimes took Yoori to
his studio and spent some times with her. Yoori would draw and Byunghun would
play the piano for Yoori. Slowly, Yoori’s heart fallen for this guy. Byunghun
had made her life different. She rarely talked with guys since some guys from
her old school were scared to talk to her and Byunghun was the first guy who
made his way to her heart (beside of Chanhee). Every morning, Byunghun would
always give Yoori a flower, different flower each days. That moves made Yoori’s
heart more flutter.
Byunghun
also secretly took Yoori to department store, just for spent more times with
her, abandoned Chanhee. Both of them would play in the game centre, had lunch
together and Byunghun would always ended up buying things what Yoori liked. If
there was still a free time, Byunghun would take Yoori to see cinema. The more
times they spent, it made Byunghun and Yoori knew each other more and deeply
fallen in love each other. But both of them didn’t want to admit it that they
had fallen in love. Especially Byunghun who still had some ‘secrets’ in him.
In reply,
Yoori would always bring lunches for Byunghun. She would cook for him, even her
parents and friends were confused that she never cooked for them even though
she can cook. She also would give some new clothes or accessories to Byunghun
since he always cared about his looks. Their relationship became more close and
we could say, intimate (bukanyadongya!!). Both of them felt secure and
comfortable around each other.
In the
other hands, Minsoo and Yoomi’s relationship didn’t make any progress at first.
Minsoo would always show his affections towards Yoomi on their club activities
like gave her a drink when she just got back from changing, but she always
distracted by the seniors in her club. They knew Minsoo liked Yoomi and they
would never give Yoomi to Minsoo. That made Minsoo going mad at them until one
day, he dragged Yoomi to go home together in front of her sunbaes after their
club activities. Yoomi smiled when Minsoo’s hand held her hand tightly. She
never met a guy like this (after Byunghun).
Minsoo also
acted sweet to Yoomi but it was really different with what Byunghun had done to
Yoori. It was COMPLETELY had different feels. If Byunghun looked sweet and
lovely, Minsoo would always look awkward with his own act. That made Yoomi
laughed everytime she saw Minsoo like that. She even texted Minsoo to stop act
sweet towards her because it didn’t match to his look. But at least, Minsoo
still asked Yoomi to go with him on weekend to spend their time together.
There, Minsoo really showed his all to Yoomi. From being a gentleman to a
perfect boyfriend (he surely hoped Yoomi noticed what he meant by doing that)
would always he do.
Yoomi did
notice Minsoo’s feelings towards her but she didn’t want to be over confident
about her assumptions because she once got hurt by that. She slowly watched
Minsoo from a far - did a glance once a while when they were together with
their friends, made an eye-contact with him. After school, sometimes both of
them would play basketball on the school’s yard, leaving Sina with Chanhee.
Once, Minsoo caught Yoomi’s body from falling to the ground and that made
Yoomi’s heart moved, seeing Minsoo’s face from a closer view. Minsoo also would
always steal some movements whenever they were playing basketball. He would
back-hugged Yoomi or even hugged her. Yoomi didn’t give a mind on that, in
fact, she was quite happy to feel Minsoo’s warm side against her. From Sina’s
advice, Minsoo became brave to do what he wanted to do to get Yoomi and slowly,
they also fell for each other but none of them were brave enough to do the
confession.

It was
finally a summer break plus a holiday for them since they would be 2nd
grade students next month. The boys and the girls were made an appointment to
spend their time at the beach. They got permissions from their parents
especially the girls. They were so excited to go to the beach for 2 days.
Again, especially for Minsoo and Byunghun, it meant that they could spend their
times with their love one.
“Hi guys~!!!!”,Sina greeted the boys.
“Uhh… Who are they?!”,Yoori asked
as they saw three other people they didn’t know.
“Sorry. They kept begging on us to
allow them join us. These brats really –“, Byunghun said.
“Introduced yourselves to these
noonas!!”,Minsoo said as he kicked their butts.
“HYUNG!! It hurts!! Hello,
noona-deul~!! I’m Changhyun. Nice to meet you all. Our hyungs always told us
about you”
“Yeah, especially Byunghun and
Minsoo hyung. They always told us about Yoo—“
“YA!!! Introduce
yourself!!!”,Byunghun and Minsoo kicked his butt.
“Aishh~ Arasseo. Hello,
noona-deul!! I am Niel. Nice to know you and next month, I will be your junior
too, in TOP high school”
“Hello, I am Jonghyun”
“………………………………..”
“What?! Do I have to add anything
else??”
“You rude magnae~!!!”,Byunghun
wanted to punch his head but he swayed his head.
“Hyung, I have black belt, don’t
forget!!”,Jonghyun said as he walked to his car.
The girls
were giggling because for them, Jonghyun was too cute with that attitude. One
of the boys named Changhyun got closer to them.
“Which one is Yoomi noona and which
one is Yoori noona?!”
“Uhh.. I’m Yoomi and this is
Yoori”, Yoomi answered while pointing her finger to Yoori.
“YOOMI NOONA!!! YOORI NOONA!!! SINA
NOONA!!! Ok, I get it now. Nice to meet you all, noona!!”, he said with
cheerful tone while jumped. But then he dragged Yoomi and whispered something,
“Noona… Minsoo hyung is crazy about yo—“
“YOO CHANGHYUN!!”
“Whoaaaaaaaa—He is hereeeeee”,
Changhyun screamed and ran away.
“Please, don’t mind him”, Minsoo
said as he was blushing. Yoomi just smiled and nodded her head.
“OK, GUYS!!! LET’S GO TO THE
BEACH!!!!”,Niel screamed.
Yoomi got
into Minsoo’s car while Yoori got into Byunghun’s car. Sina was dragged by
Changhyun to sit on Jonghyun’s car with Niel, Chanhee and Jonghyun. Changhyun
said it would be good if they didn’t interrupt the hyungs to do some more moves
to the girls. The rides were fun for them, especially in Jonghyun’s car. Niel
and Changhyun sang out-loud while Sina and Chanhee followed the rhythm.
Jonghyun was stucked on driving the car.
Once they
arrived at the beach, they forgot everything and ran on the sands. Byunghun and
Yoori – Minsoo and Yoomi made their own way, leaving the others. Sina, Chanhee,
Niel and Changhyun played on the sands. Jonghyun was still inside the car,
sleeping. Sina and Changhyun played ‘Catch-me-if-you-can’ game and Changhyunaccidentally
pull Sina’s ponytail hair, made her hair loose. Her wavy hair was exposed and
someone just saw it with awe. His heartbeat became faster as he saw Sina with
her long wavy hair, laughing while running under the sun ray. For him, this was
the first time he saw a girl resemble an angel.
“Niel-ah!!Ya, Ahn Daniel!! Are you
listening?!”,Chanhee budged Niel’s body”
“Uhh… Yeah, hyung… Yeah…”
“You seem lost!! What happened?!”
“She………..”
“She?! Who?! Sina?!”
“Yes… How come…”
“You like her, don’t you?! Eiiiii~”
“Look!! She looks like an angel
with that long wavy hair!! Don’t you feel it too??”
“I see her everyday, Niel. I see
her everyday with her long wavy hair. But it’s just us—“
“YOU HAVE TO HELP ME HYUNG!!!
PROMISE ME YOU WILL HELP ME, CHANHEE HYUNG!!”
“Wh—Hey! Chill down, Niel. I will
help you. I will. But help you with what?!”
Niel asked
Chanhee to help him get closer to Sina since Niel said he likes Sina. Chanhee
got shock at first but then he agreed to help Niel. It would be easy to get
them closer since Sina is Chanhee’s best friend. Niel really couldn’t take his
eyes off from Sina from that time. It’s like SIna has a magnet to his eyes.
Everything Sina did seemed amusing to Niel. He even smiled himself just by
looking at how happy Sina was at the beach, playing prank with Changhyun – not
knowing that Jonghyun has joined them, sat on the sand and watched over him
with confused expression.
Jonghyun
asked Chanhee if there was something wrong with Niel as he smiled like an
idiot. Chanhee told Jonghyun that the kid sat beside him is falling in love
with Sina. Jonghyun laughed and that made Niel “woke up” from his own world. Jonghyun
made a fun of him by saying, “LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! AWWWW~~” and that made
Niel’s cheek blushed. Changhyun who heard what Jonghyun said left Sina and
asked who fell in love at the first sight. Chanhee and Jonghyun ran their
fingers towards Niel. Changhyun laughed hard as he knew who the girl is. He
even told Niel if he could tell Sina right away that he likes her. Niel punched
Changhyun’s head HARD.
Changhyun
then gave the chance to Niel to accompany Sina play. Niel blushed, hesitated if
he could do well but then Chanhee pushed him to Sina. Sina greeted Niel happily
and grabbed his hand to play along with her in the sea. Niel’s cheek blushed
even more as he felt his heartbeat going crazy, looking at how gorgeous Sina
that time holding his hand. Sina splashed some water to Niel’s face and laughed
happily to see Niel’s wet face. Niel smiled and then splashed waters to Sina in
return. They had fun.
“How lovely”, Chanhee said as he
looked at Sina and Niel.
“I know… How come the three of us
were left here alone while they are having fun?!”
“Not fair”, Jonghyun scoffed.
The three
of them were finally made their way to Byunghun’s cottage near the beach as all
of them would stay there for 2 days. They brought the luggage to the cottage
and placed them randomly as they didn’t know whom the luggage belong to. They
found their own room and fell asleep.

The couples
were looking for Chanhee, Changhyun and Jonghyun but they couldn’t find them.
When they were looking at the parking lot, Jonghyun’s car was nowhere to be
seen. Minsoo then said that they probably already at the cottage.
Minsoo –
Yoomi and Sina – Niel were made their way to the cottage as well, rode Minsoo’s
car while Byunghun and Yoori still stayed there in the beach. Byunghun asked
Yoori to stay with him a little longer in the beach since there was something
that Byunghun wanted to say to Yoori.
Slowly, the
sun had set and it was getting dark. Yoori shivered as the air became cold.
That time, Byunghun leaned his coat to Yoori while hugging Yoori. Yoori’s heart
made a fast beat and Byunghun could feel it too as his heart was beating the
same beat as her. Yoori’s face blushed as Byunghun touched her hair gently. He
whispered something that made Yoori’s heart stop making a beat.
“Yoori, you have made my day
different from the moment I met you. I LIKE YOU”
She
couldn’t say anything. She was freezing. He finally said it. The words that she
had been waiting for to be said were finally said. He hugged her even more. Now
she felt really hard to breath in Byunghun’s arms. Suddenly, Byunghun let her
go and he kneeled in front of Yoori, held her hand.
“I know
that I’m not a perfect guy and I’m a player but since I met you, you have
changed me into a better person and I’m so thankful to you. I like you from the
moment you ignored me. You made me crazy thinking about you day and night, Jung
Yoori. I always finding myself look like an idiot whenever I’m thinking about
you these days. The way you eyed me, the way you smiled at me, the way you
talked to me all of them made me crazy. I think I can’t hold this any longer.
WOULD YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND, Jung Yoori-ssi?!”
Yoori could
feel her heartbeat was stopped at the moment he said his confession. She
couldn’t say a single word. She only knew that she also liked him since they
had been spending their time together as she knew Byunghun more. She was
shaking and Byunghun could feel it since her hand still on Byunghyun’s grip.
“It’s okay if you don’t have the
same feeling as me. I understand. Don’t push yourself to answer it now. You can
answer it tomo—“
“Yes, I would love to”
Byunghun
got shock with what Yoori just said. He looked at Yoori’s eyes deeply as he
wanted to make sure that he didn’t hear it wrong. Yoori looked at his eyes and
nodded, signaling that he didn’t hear a wrong answer. Byunghun’s lips made a
smile then hugged Yoori. He kissed Yoori’s cheek then ran to the shore while
shouting, “YAY!!! JUNG YOORI IS MY GIRLFRIEND NOW!!!”. Yoori shyly smiled.
